Kristi Noel joins the women's basketball staff at Indiana University Southeast bringing with her a wealth of both playing and coaching experience. A 1992 graduate of Marshall University, Noel currently still stands in the top-12 career statistics for the women’s basketball team program in five categories; scoring (10th), rebounding (11th), assists (8th), steals (12th) and 3-point field goals made (12th). She was also voted to the 2nd team All Southern Conference Tournament Team in 1992. She graduated from Salem High School in 1988 and is still the school’s career leading scorer and is a member of the Salem High School Hall of Fame.
After graduating from Marshall, she spent a semester as a graduate assistant at Butler University. Noel’s coaching career includes 16 years of AAU basketball including both boys and girls. She spent 8 years in the Salem IN school system coaching girls basketball with her final five years coaching Salem’s junior varsity. She was part of a coaching staff that won 3 sectionals, 2 regionals, 1 semi-state, and the first State finals appearance in school history.
She earned a degree in Journalism/Public Relations from Marshall in 1992 and worked for five years in healthcare marketing and public relations for Jewish Hospital/WCMH prior to coaching. She and her husband Jon reside in Salem and have four children, Abby, Nick, Luke and Natalie.
