No. 22 IU Southeast Defeats Ohio Christian 10-3

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast baseball team opened its second conference series of the year with a 10-3 win over Ohio Christian on Friday.

The Grenadiers (14-1, 4-0 RSC) got on the board first when Clay Woeste led off with a single, stole second and scored on a RBI double by Marco Romero.

Daunte Decello had a RBI single to bring in Ray Aponte in the second inning.

After the Trailblazers struck for three runs in the top of the fourth, Woeste tied the game with a solo home run, his second of the year, in the fifth.

The Grenadiers put the game away with four runs in the sixth and three in the seventh.

In the sixth, Brody Tanksley led off with a triple and scored on a single to center by Ben Berenda. Ethan Shafer scored on a passed ball and Decello drew a bases loaded walk to score Jake Scott. A sacrifice fly by Woeste made it 7-3.

In the seventh, Alec Saulman drew a bases loaded walk, Decello had a two run single for his fourth RBI of the game.

Hunter Kloke moved to 5-0 as he worked six innings for the win. He allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits. He struck out five and walked one.

Daunte Decello went 3-for-3 with four RBI and Clay Woeste was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI.

IU Southeast concludes the series with Ohio Christian Saturday with a doubleheader set for 1 p.m.
