
Grenadiers Score 25 Runs in Romp of Ohio Christian on Friday
LANCASTER, Ohio - The IU Southeast baseball team scored 25 runs on 23 hits in a 25-1 seven-inning victory over Ohio Christian on Friday.
Offense in Friday's game:
- Mason White doubled in the top of the first to score Alex Yurt.
- Kody Putnam singled in the top of the first. Mason White and Trevor Campbell scored.
- Brayden Hazelwood hit a three-run home run in the first inning (Ben Berenda and Kody Putnam scored).
- Mason White doubled in the second inning, scoring Trevor Campbell.
- Trevor Goodwin also doubled in the second, scoring Jackson Roseburrough and Kody Putnam.
- Mason White drove in Garrett Jones on a sacrifice fly in the top of the third.
- Kody Putnam brought home Alex Yurt on another sacrifice fly in the third inning.
- Ben Berenda singled to score Trevor Campbell in the third.
- Trevor Goodwin homered, scoring Jackson Roseburrough in the top of the third.
- Garrett Jones singled in the third inning, scoring Brayden Hazelwood.
- Trevor Campbell drew a bases loaded walk in the third, scoring Slater Schield.
- Austin Griffin reached on an error in the third inning. Garrett Jones scored on the play.
- Ryan Kassel reached on a fielder's choice in the fourth inning, scoring Jackson Roseburrough.
- Trevor Campbell brought home Alex Yurt, Ryan Kassel and Slater Schield on a three-run double in the top of the fourth.
- Trevor Campbell singled in the top of the sixth, driving home Ryan Kassel.
- Austin Griffin singled to score Alex Yurt in the sixth inning.
- Austin Griffin came around to score on a wild pitch, also in the sixth inning.
- Jackson Roseburrough singled to bring home Kody Putnam in the top of the sixth.
Twelve different Grenadiers had a hit in the contest, eight Grenadiers had at least two hits and three Grenadiers had three hits. Ten Grenadiers had at least one RBI, and six Grenadiers had multiple runs batted in.
Lane Oesterling started for IU Southeast, giving up only one run in four innings of work. Gavin Knust, Luke McLaughlin, and Brendan Koester all threw a scoreless inning in the win.
IU Southeast moves to 8-13 overall and 5-4 in RSC play. The Grenadiers have won two of their three RSC series to start the campaign.
The Grenadiers return to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at IUPUC.
