BRESCIA DEFEATS IU SOUTHEAST 74-66

OWENSBORO, Ky. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to Brescia University 74-66 on Saturday afternoon.

Glenn Hill and Jared Osborne both scored 21 in the contest. Gabriel Casillas Cruz scored 11 off the bench, going a perfect 4-4 from the field.

IU Southeast (1-7, 0-2 RSC) fell behind 10-3 early, but later used a 7-0 run to take their first lead at 15-14 with 11:18 left in the first half. A Gabriel Casillas Cruz jumper gave IU Southeast a three-point lead later in the half, but an 8-0 run gave Brescia the lead right back. Brescia led 34-31 at halftime.

Jared Osborne and Glenn Hill scored 27 of IU Southeast's 31 first half points. Hill had 15, going 4-6 from the field and a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. Osborne added 12 on 5-7 shooting.

Brescia opened the second half with a 5-0 run in the first minute, extending their lead to eight. The Bearcats never trailed in the second half, extending their lead to as many 13. IU Southeast kept fighting back but could never get the deficit back under five points after the 5-0 Brescia run to begin the second half.

IU Southeast shot 43.4 percent from the field in the contest but struggled from the three-point line, going 2-15 from long range. The Grenadiers hit 18 of their 25 free throw attempts.

The Grenadiers return home Tuesday for a conference matchup against Midway University.
