IU SOUTHEAST FALLS TO WVU TECH 87-69

BECKLEY, W.Va. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team fell to WVU Tech 87-69 on Thursday.

Ahmad Price led the Grenadiers in scoring with 21 points in his IU Southeast debut. Glenn Hill had 13 points and nine rebounds in the contest. Anthony Wales Jr. and Jared Osborne had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

IU Southeast (5-13, 3-4 RSC) scored two of the first three baskets of the game, but WVU Tech (15-2, 6-0 RSC) scored nine straight points to take an eight-point lead early in the first half. The Grenadiers fought to stay within single digits for the majority of the first half, but back-to-back threes extended the WVU Tech lead to 18. IU Southeast trailed at the half 43-22.

Anthony Wales Jr. and Ahmad Price led the Grenadiers in first half scoring with 6 points apiece. The difference in the first half was three-point shooting. WVU Tech went 8-18 from behind the arc while IU Southeast missed all six of their attempts.

The second half was much of the same for both teams. WVU Tech led by as many as 28 in the second half. IU Southeast managed to cut the lead to 14 down the stretch, but it was too little too late for the Grenadiers. WVU Tech would go on to win 87-69.

Ahmad Price scored 15 of his 21 points in the second half. Glenn Hill added nine points and seven rebounds after halftime.

The Grenadiers hit six second half threes, going 6-19 for the game. WVU Tech went 14-32 from behind the arc and 14-27 from the free throw line in the contest. IU Southeast hit 11 of their 15 free throw attempts.

The Grenadiers travel to Ohio Christian University next Thursday.
