Grenadiers Fall To No. 25 IU Kokomo

KOKOMO, Ind. – A sluggish first half for the IU Southeast men's basketball team was the difference as the Grenadiers fell 69-48 to No. 25 IU Kokomo on Tuesday, snapping their eight-game winning streak.

The Grenadiers could not get their offense going in the first half and fell behind 26-9 with 11 minutes left in the opening period.

IU Southeast shot just 28 percent from the field in the first half and made just two three-point field goals. Jared Osborne scored 11 of his 17 points in the first half to try and keep the Grenadiers in the game.

The Cougars came out firing on all cylinders, shooting 52 percent from the field to open the game. They led 39-22 at halftime.

In the second half, the IU Southeast offense finally came to life but the perimeter attack that would aid their comeback attempt never did as IU Southeast did not make a three-point field goal in the second half, and shot just 2-of-20 from behind-the-arc in the game.

A layup by Hill cut the lead to 14 with 8:16 to play but the Cougars answered with a pair of free-throws and a layup by Hunter White to stop the rally.

Glenn Hill Jr (18) and Jared Osborne (17) combined to score 35 of the Grenadiers' 48 points in the contest.

IU Southeast concludes regular season play at Oakland City Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.
