Grenadiers Cruise Past Miami-Middletown On Senior Day

NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's basketball team capped off a stellar regular season with a 92-69 win over Miami-Middletown on Senior Day.

With the win, IU Southeast recorded its first 20-win season since the 2017-18 campaign and earned the RSC West Division No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

IU Southeast led 20-14 halfway through the first half,  Armani Carr sparked a run 14-5 run that put the Grenadiers comfortably ahead.

He hit a three-pointer and made a layup on consecutive possessions and then hit a jumper and a three-point field goal to end the run and give IU Southeast a 34-17 lead.  

The Thunderhawks tried to get the deficit to single digits but Lane Lauderbaurgh connected on a three-pointer to extend the lead back to 37-23.

Anthony Wales Jr. and Glenn Hill followed with a three-pointer and a jumper to push the lead to 42-25.

The Grenadiers led 44-29 at halftime. Armani Carr, Anthony Wales Jr. and Glenn Hill each had 10 points in the first half to lead IU Southeast.

In the second half, the Grenadier offense shot 51 percent from the field to help sustain the lead.

Glenn Hill had 13 points and Christian Stewart had 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting.

IU Southeast finished the game outrebounding the Thunderhawks 51-31 which led to a 21-7 advantage in second-chance points.

The IU Southeast senior trio of Glenn Hill, Christian Stewart and Anthony Wales Jr. led the way to the victory.

Glenn Hill had 23 points and 11 rebounds, Christian Stewart had 16 points and nine rebounds and Anthony Wales Jr. had 12 points and three assists in the win.

Armani Carr had 10 points off the bench.

The Grenadiers will host a RSC quarterfinal game Wednesday at 7 p.m. The opponent and complete bracket will be released by the conference later Saturday.
