Men’s Tennis Falls to Brescia, Defeats IU East Sunday
NEW ALBANY, Ind. – The IU Southeast men's tennis team dropped a tight 4-3 decision to Brescia Saturday before rebounding to defeat IU East 4-3 on Sunday.
Against Brescia, IU Southeast picked up the doubles point when Eli Franks and Noah Neuhauser and Aiden De Witt and Camden Jones each won 6-3.
But the Bearcats took the lead with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 singles. Eli Franks tied the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win, but Bearcat wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 singles secured the win for Brescia.
Against IU East, the Grenadiers won the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles and Eric White House and Nolan Patterson cruised to a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, IU East took a 3-1 lead with wins at the top three singles positions.
Camden Jones got a point back for IU Southeast with a 6-3, 7-5 win, Eric White House won a tight first set 7-5 before rolling to a 6-1 win in set two.
Nolan Patterson won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
IU Southeast travels to Pikeville on April 11.
