Grenadiers Take Down Miami-Middletown 100-59 On Senior Day

NEW ALBANY, Ind. - The IU Southeast women's basketball team cruised to a 100-59 victory over Miami-Middletown on Saturday. The trio of Lauren Lambdin, Sierra Graham, and Emmy Ralph were honored in Senior Day festivities prior to the game.

IU Southeast started the game hot, hitting their first three shots to take an 8-2 lead. A Sierra Graham three gave the Grenadiers their first double digit lead at 16-6. The Grenadiers led 30-17 after one quarter, led by Sierra Graham with 10 points on 4-4 shooting.

The Grenadiers led by 15 before back-to-back baskets by the ThunderHawks cut it to 10. Freshman Jesse Ledgerwood scored eight straight Grenadiers points in the second quarter to extend the IU Southeast lead back to 14.

A third three by Jesse Ledgerwood gave the Grenadiers a 47-29 lead. A layup by Makenna Wilson sent the Grenadiers into halftime with a 49-29 lead.

The Grenadiers dominated the third quarter. Miami-Middletown cut the lead to 22 but IU Southeast scored 13 straight to extend their lead to 35 at 77-42. IU Southeast led 80-44 after the third quarter.

IU Southeast outscored Miami-Middletown 20-15 in the fourth quarter, cruising to a 100-59 victory on Senior Day.

All three of the players who partook in the Senior Day festivities scored in double digits. Emmy Ralph filled the stat sheet, leading the team with 18 points, seven assists, six rebounds and five steals. Sierra Graham scored 14 points in the contest, and Lauren Lambdin added 12 points.

Jesse Ledgerwood hit four threes in route to a career-high 14 points. Leah Miller was in double-digits once again, scoring 11 points in the contest. Karly Sweeney scored nine points and Brynna Blackburn scored six points and grabbed a share of the team lead with six rebounds.

IU Southeast shot 53.3 percent from the field in the contest. The Grenadiers hit 14 of their 30 three-point attempts and scored 33 points off of 22 Miami-Middletown turnovers.

IU Southeast finishes the season 19-9 overall and 11-7 in RSC play. The Grenadiers, finishing third in the West, will travel to second-seeded Alice Lloyd out of the East Division. The two teams will meet at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
