WILMORE, Ky. – The IU Southeast volleyball team swept former conference rival Asbury University 27-25, 25-22, 25-13 on Tuesday.
Emilee Organ led the Grenadiers with 13 kills while Macy Graves added 12. Delaney Nichols had six kills on 18 attempts. Santina Schembra and Hannah Brown each had a pair of aces. Cate Murphy led the Grenadiers with 20 assists.
The Grenadiers battled back to take the first set 27-25 after leading late in the first set and giving up the lead.
In the second set, IU Southeast trailed 14-12 before using a 5-0 run to take a lead that they would not surrender. Emilee Organ and Delaney Nichols led the offensive attack during that stretch to take the lead for the Grenadiers.
IU Southeast led by double figures for much of the third set and jumped out to a 10-4. Emilee Organ and Macy Graves each had three kills to open the third set and spark the offense.
IU Southeast hosts Brescia University Friday at 7 p.m.
